Write your strategy in OKR Studio and use it as context when drafting objectives and key results

What is a Strategy?

If the vision is where you want to go, the strategy is how you intend to get there. It records the choices you are making, such as who you serve, where you will focus and what you will not do. Your objectives then turn those choices into goals for a cycle.

What to write down

  • • Executive Summary: the strategy in a few sentences
  • • Target Audience and Market Analysis
  • • Current State and Key Challenges & Risks
  • • Target Condition: where you want to be
  • • Owner, Vision and Tags in the Properties panel

Who can do what

  • • Admins and Product Leaders can write and edit
  • • Team Members can read
  • • Stakeholders can read
Turning Strategy on

Strategy is optional and is off until an Admin enables it. It is available on all plans.

  1. 1. Sign in as an Admin and open Settings, then General
  2. 2. Open the Features tab
  3. 3. Turn on Strategy
  4. 4. Click Save Feature Settings
  5. 5. Vision, Strategies and Products appear in the sidebar for every member, above OKRs

Turning it off is safe

Disabling the switch hides Vision and Strategy for everyone. Nothing is deleted, and everything is back when you turn it on again.

Writing your strategy
  1. 1. Open Strategy, then Strategies in the sidebar
  2. 2. Click "Add strategy"
  3. 3. Enter a title and confirm; you land on the edit page
  4. 4. On Basic Information, write the Executive Summary; on Strategic Planning, fill in Target Audience, Market Analysis, Current State, Key Challenges & Risks and Target Condition
  5. 5. Set the Owner, link a Vision and add Tags
  6. 6. Save it so the whole organization can read it

Example

Strategy: Win independent clinics with fewer than ten staff by being the simplest booking tool to set up.
Objective: Make setup so simple that a clinic is live on day one.
Key result: Cut median time from signup to first booking from 5 days to 1 day.
Link OKRs to your strategy

The Objectives tab on the strategy edit page connects the strategy to the OKRs that help measure its success.

  1. 1. Open the strategy and go to the Objectives tab
  2. 2. Select the existing objectives that carry the strategy out
  3. 3. Save the strategy
Draft OKRs from your strategy

A saved strategy can be picked as context in the AI Draft OKRs wizard, so the suggested objectives and key results reflect your priorities. After you save a strategy, a toast offers "Use this strategy when drafting OKRs" as a shortcut to start drafting from it.

  • • AI drafting is available on paid plans
  • • You are asked for AI consent before the first use
  • • AI-generated drafts are marked as AI-assisted and you review them before saving
