OKR Check-ins

Track progress and update your key results regularly

What are Check-ins?

Check-ins are regular progress updates where teams review their OKRs, update metrics, and identify any blockers or risks. They keep everyone aligned and help course-correct early.

We recommend weekly check-ins to maintain momentum and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

How to Check In
1

Navigate to Check-in View

Select your cycle and click "Check-in" to see all OKRs

2

Update Progress

For each key result, update the current value and progress percentage

3

Add Notes

Describe what was accomplished and any challenges encountered

4

Mark Status

Set status as On Track, At Risk, or Off Track based on current progress

Status Indicators

On Track

Progress is aligned with expectations for this point in the cycle. No blockers.

At Risk

Progress is slower than expected or there are potential blockers that need attention.

Off Track

Significant delays or blockers that require immediate action or may prevent completion.

Best Practices
  • Weekly cadence: Check in every week on the same day
  • Be honest: Accurate status helps teams course-correct early
  • Focus on outcomes: Update actual metrics, not just activities
  • Note blockers: Document what's preventing progress
  • Celebrate wins: Recognize achievements along the way
  • Adjust as needed: OKRs can be refined if circumstances change significantly
When to Update Progress

The frequency of check-ins depends on your cycle length and team preferences:

  • Quarterly cycles: Weekly check-ins (recommended)
  • Monthly cycles: Bi-weekly check-ins
  • Annual cycles: Monthly check-ins

Consistency is more important than frequency. Pick a schedule and stick to it.
